Equilibrium Opens European Office To Expand Sales and Support of MediaRich Server and MediaRich for SharePoint Products
SAUSALITO, CA, AND BASEL, SWITZERLAND - January 20, 2010- Equilibrium® a software and hosted services company that specializes in helping enterprise clients of all sizes to manage, monetize and mobilize content, announced the opening of a sales and support office in Basel, Switzerland, and named Peer Blumenschein as Managing Director of European Sales. Blumenschein's mandate is to grow sales of Equilibrium's MediaRich® product line throughout Europe, including Austria, Benelux, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Switzerland. He will also be managing distribution relationships, system integrators and partner activities. Previously, Mr. Blumenschein was CEO and founder of Softline AG, a pan-European distributor of hundreds of enterprise software products with over 120 Million Euros in sales."Today marks a significant step in our continuing growth in Europe. Mr. Shattuck brings more than twenty-five years of enterprise and channel sales experience to the company. He has held various senior sales and business development positions in both Fortune 500 corporations as well as start-ups. His experience includes ten years with ROLM Communications where he held positions in sales, sales management, marketing and general management.
As Vice President, Eastern Region Sales at GeoTel Communications, Mr. Shattuck's team closed multi-million dollars sales to Prudential Insurance, the IRS, and Delta Airlines, which, among others, enabled the launch of a successful IPO. As General Manager at Aspect Communications, Mr. Shattuck carried P & L responsibility for more than one hundred and thirty sales and service personnel and $160M revenue target. His last position, prior to running his own business, was a Vice President of Business Development at Packeteer where he successfully negotiated the $80M acquisition of Workfire, Inc. Mr. Shattuck reports to Sean Barger, Chief Executive Officer at Equilibrium.

Together, EQ and ENPS help streamline newsroom production of online content through tight integration of Equilibrium's MediaRich for MOS Server. Existing ENPS customers may download a thirty-day trial version of MediaRich for MOS by contacting either Equilibrium or the Associated Press.
Equilibrium's MediaRich works with ENPS and other MOS compliant newsroom servers to automatically transcode production quality video for web use. This tight integration enables production and distribution of text and media content to the web using the same, seamless drag and drop workflow available in the past only to broadcasters. In addition, for each video or one of hundreds of recognized filetypes MediaRich for MOS automatically creates thumbnails, animated GIFs, as well as proxy images and videos.
With Equilibrium's optional connector to MOS, the MediaRich Server can integrate with virtually any MOS compliant systems including Associate Press ENPS to create faster, more versatile, and more interactive video-to-the-web workflows. MediaRich for MOS provides thumbnail images and proxy video which are closely integrated within the ENPS Story display and editing windows.
Story Send
MediaRich for MOS uses the full body of text within ENPS documents, including all media pointers and custom metadata. It also dynamically tracks the sequence of Stories and Assignments within active ENPS Running Orders and Assignment grids.
Media Awareness
MediaRich for MOS sends ENPS a description of the media it stores. The description contains structured metadata and a pointer to the media object. This information is used by ENPS to return media in search results. Pointers are used to link media to ENPS documents, including Stories, Running Orders and Assignments using simple drag and drop workflow.

Equilibrium MediaRich for SharePoint Accelerates Marketing and Fundraising Efforts for Feeding America
Feeding America's HungerNet Implements MediaRich for SharePoint and Significantly Cuts Labor Time and Physical Handling ExpensesSAUSALITO, CA, July 15, 2009 - Equilibrium®, a software and hosted services company that specializes in assisting enterprise clients of all sizes to manage, monetize and mobilize content announced today that, Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief charity, is successfully utilizing Equilibrium MediaRich® for SharePoint to increase efficiency of marketing initiatives across its national network of 206 member food banks. HungerNet, Feeding America's intranet, serves members across the country, with approximately 90% of affiliated staff able to access marketing assets such as photos, graphics and pre-set branded templates.
Since Feeding America installed Equilibrium MediaRich for SharePoint this spring, it has been much easier and more time efficient for the creative services team at the national office as well as 5,000 affiliated staff members to upload, access, share, and manage digital assets. MediaRich also allows Feeding America's HungerNet to closely track images and make sure older images are removed from the system at the proper time. In addition, costs were cut through the use of MediaRich, with members now able to directly access resources on-demand, rather than having to make in-house requests that are not only time-consuming but also use valuable resources to address. Due to MediaRich's ease of use, Feeding America interns and part-time volunteers were able to initially catalog, tag and upload all digital images to HungerNet.

Feeding America turned to Equilibrium's MediaRich for SharePoint software to find an easier way to manage, distribute and access its digital assets for marketing materials including newsletters, Web sites, direct mailings and public service announcements to the more than 5,000 network member staffers across the country.
Prior to the installation of MediaRich for SharePoint, the Feeding America national office had shared digital resources across the 206 Hunger Net network through traditional techniques: mailing hundreds of photo CDs each year, containing mostly food bank and hunger-relief images that members would then incorporate into their local outreach and marketing efforts. Now, the Feeding America network uses MediaRich to continuously maintain and refresh its custom digital media library, where the affiliated remote staff members can search, manipulate and download thousands of images and media files used to conduct local outreach programs in thousands of communities across the U.S. In addition to time saved, Feeding America has eliminated the costs and environmental issues associated with producing photo CDs, shipping and mailing materials and the energy consumed to deliver marketing program elements to 206 locations.
In addition, the photos may be used for only two years. The system also allows them to track these legacy images and make sure they are removed at the proper time.
